I am a Wedding photographer and I love my job. I get to spend most of the day taking photographs of one of the happiest days in peoples lives. Wedding photography is great, it pushes me to keep my images cool and contemporary, to show the love and the passion of the day. As a wedding photographer it is my job and pleasure to record this day for the bride and groom. Photography will help you relive your big day for years to come and the memories will come flooding back every time that you look at your wedding photographs.

We also recognise that couples will still require more formal wedding photography but we would recommend that you keep this to a minimum (around half an hour), taking the images that are important to yourselves.

If you really would like the photo of great aunt Lucy twice removed then include it in your shot list but if it is not that important ensure your groomsmen work with your wedding photographer to include everyone in your group shot, you will have a record of all guests who attended your wedding day but you will have more time to focus on images of you and your partner, after all that is what your wedding day is all about.

1. Trust your wedding photographers.

2. Allow time for your wedding photographs to be taken, rushed photographs will only make you and your guests look flustered.

3. Keep formal shots to a minimum as this allows more time to focus on you.

4. Allow candid wedding photography as this will capture moments that you may have missed.

5. Ensure your groomsmen are aware of their role in assisting your wedding photographer as they will know your guests better.

6. Have fun, you could have employed the top wedding photographer in the country but if you are worrying about who great uncle
  Bob is offending your images will show this (apologies to all inoffensive great uncle Bob’s)

7. Feed your wedding photographers, they will in most cases have been with you from early morning so if you are hungry they will
  be too.

8. Discuss in detail your requirements with your wedding photographer; unfortunately we are not telepaths (although it would
  be very useful for many things) so if you would like something particular please tell us.

9. Make a shot list even if you would only like two photographs taken, it will ensure those two photographs are not forgotten in the
  excitement.
